What must the precision landing of three high-rise buildings look like in order to plant a piece of city into a non-place?
A cluster of three high-rise residential buildings with a total of around 800 apartments is to be built on a site used as a parking lot with good connections to the underground. In an international competition, concepts were sought for the position and shape of the high-rise buildings, as well as for a walk-through base that combines the three towers into one quarter and draws the urban space into the cluster. In the first stage of the competition, the project was selected as the lead project; in the second, cooperative stage, the second and third-ranked projects were to be integrated into the lead concept.
The project addresses the 3 big challenges of living in high-rise buildings: Courage for the city means to bring back the latent added value of the high-rise building—its density—to the ground of the city several times. 1. URBAN ADDED VALUE: public spaces for the city 2. URBAN BASE: Active ground floor and openness for use 3. THE GREEN DECK Space for the community
