If we understand its programme as a tool that contributes to ways how we live together, housing can become a <em>neighbourhood-machine<\/em>, injecting new ways of living together. My lecture will unfold housing\u2019s latent potential as an \u201curban substance\u201d elaborating on projects which experiment with the interplay of typology, programme and economy.
