What ingredients does a quarter that is located far outside and is committed to the objective that its residents “stay” need?
As part of a property developers’ competition for subsidized housing, the development for the strip-shaped plot was to be conceived. The zoning plan specifies Austrian Bauklasse (building class) I, i.e. low buildings with a maximum of two floors and the possibility of tiered top floors. A special thematic focus of the tender was different generations living together.
Why we don’t just want to stay here, but can also stay here when our circumstances change: The project conceives a series of assessments that develop the particularity of the area into a unique example of smart city garden living by enriching the added value of communal living with the individual dreams of the garden house: whoever comes here experiences garden life as a world marked by greenery that permanently offers options for changing individual and communal needs.
