Why shouldn’t research and experimentation be in intimate contact with the landscape and refresh the image of the “technology park”?
The High Tech Campus Villach is an extension of the Technology Park Villach and will house 16,000 m² of research and laboratory space. The task of the competition was to find an urban planning solution that could be implemented in four stages and to design one of the buildings for the first stage.
The project takes the development of the architectural project as an opportunity to formulate an urban vision: a spatial counterpart to the innovative impetus of research is proposed, in which the world of work is conceived as a laboratory with social, infrastructural and spatial demands. The three key themes of buildings, infrastructure and open space enter into exciting alliances to ultimately land two coups that could lend the entire technology park an exciting uniqueness.
